Emmerdale and Strictly winner Kelvin Fletcher admits he's struggling to find work after being rejected for 10 roles

STRICTLY winner Kelvin Fletcher revealed that he's been struggling to find work after being rejected for 10 roles.

The ex Emmerdale star, who played Andy Sugden in the ITV soap, said that he's been turned down for multiple acting jobs in the last few months and became "sick" of hearing the word no.

The 37-year-old opened up about the tough realities of being an actor and admitted that he'll likely face plenty more rejection in the future.

Speaking on Instagram Live, he said:"A friend of mine, an actress, just messaged me and said, 'I can't even get a f***ing self-tape.'"

"So I know how frustrating those little selfies are, because I've been that person thinking, 'Even they are working now.'

"Let me tell you, I've had about 10 nos in these last few months."

The TV star, who revealed that he's landed a new role on the TV, advised other actors to be "patient".

"So, keep the faith. Patience is key, as I always say," he continued.

"It's only a little gig, so don't be getting too bothered."

Kelvin who left the ITV soap in 2016, added: "For all those out there who, like me, are sick of hearing the nos, I'm sure I'm going to get a lot more nos after this one.

"But I'm enjoying this while it is. Thus, the obligatory trailer selfie. It's obviously p***ed off quite a few people – enjoy!"

Kelvin did not reveal what show he had signed up for – but he was wearing something that looked a like a boiler suit or a baggy shirt.

Despite keeping tight-lipped about his new role, Kelvin is set to return to our screens in Channel 5 psychological thriller Teacher, starring alongside Cilla star Sheridan Smith.

The upcoming drama is about a teacher who is accused of a sexual encounter with a pupil.

Sheridan is set to play teacher Jenna, whose life is turned upside down with the accusation.

Drunk when the incident allegedly occurred, she has no memory of what happened that night.

Kelvin will play one of Jenna’s colleagues, he will also star alongside Ackley Bridge star Samuel Bottomley.

The four-part series is expected to air on Channel 5 later this year.
