Henry Cavill still has his superman outfit in his closet

Henry Cavill’s eight-year-old American Akita joined the actor on Monday’s edition of Lorraine on ITV. Kal has travelled with Henry to the sets of his DC blockbusters and Netflix’s The Witcher, and fans were thrilled to see his cuddly canine companion join the Superman star on the talk show.

British actor Henry, 38, spoke to Lorraine about the highly anticipated second season of The Witcher, coming to Netflix later this month, on Monday morning.

He also addressed rumours of taking over from Daniel Craig as James Bond, and the possibility of returning to the DC Universe as the Man of Steel.

However, most viewers were much more taken with the Hollywood A-listers furry friend, Kal.

Lorraine asked if the two were best friends, and Henry said: “He really is. We go everywhere together.”

“He has saved my emotional, psychological bacon plenty of times.”

The ITV presenter asked: “Really? How lovely, that he’s that important to you.”

“He is that important to me,” Henry agreed. “We have an incredibly close bond.”

Lorraine added: “I’m not surprised, I don’t think we deserve dogs, to be honest. They are the bestest things ever.”

Fans of the talk show clearly agreed and flooded Twitter with appreciative comments about the actor’s special guest.

User Damian Oddson said: “I’ve just seen Henry Cavill’s dog. What a delightful little bear.

“I wouldn’t be able to just sit in a chair and talk to Lorraine, I’d be sat on the floor playing with that wonderful pupper.”

“Henry Cavill and his very cute dog,” wrote Beckie Miller. “What more could you want for a Monday morning?”

And Nick gushed: “Can we just talk about how adorable Kal is.”

Henry has had Kal since he was ten weeks old, and has been one of the most important parts of his life ever since.

Named after Superman’s Kryptonian alter-ego Kal-El, the American Akita is a permanent fixture on the actor’s Instagram page.

Although Kal probably won’t be appearing in the next season, he is always on-set whenever Henry is playing Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher.

He has also joined him on the sets of Mission: Impossible and Justice League, as well as his frequent travels around the world.

Another fan Lynz summed up the interview: “Phwoar! Henry Cavill and his dog! My Gawd! What a beautiful sight to have your coffee to.”

Henry will be returning to screens as Geralt later this month, and will also be re-teaming with Netflix to reprise his take on Sherlock Holmes in the sequel to Enola Holmes.

The Witcher season two will be released on Friday, December 17 on Netflix.
