The sixth series of Power is finally here after one year of waiting. The first episode of the final series premieres tonight (Sunday, August 25) on Starz in the USA and the remaining 14 episodes will air every Sunday on the channel. Fans of the crime drama in the UK will be able to watch the show on Netflix every Monday from 8am on Monday, August 26. The release of the new series will no doubt set off fans’ excitement, as they clamour to find out everything there is to know about the new series. With that in mind, Express.co.uk takes a look at where Power season 6 was filmed.
Where is Power season 6 set?
Season six of Power will once again be set in New York City.
Power follows the story of James St Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick), a drug dealer known as ‘Ghost’ and nightclub owner, who is trying to balance his two lives whilst evading police capture.
Power also follows James’s personal and family life, particularly his wife Tasha (Naturi Naughton), his ton son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr), daughters Raina (Donesha Hopkins) and Yaz (Amya Carr).
The new season is called Final Betrayal and will address with the fall out between James and his life long best friend Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora).

Where is Power season 6 filmed?
The majority of Power is filmed on location in New York City.
Some scenes of the previous five seasons have also been shot in Miami, Florida.
Filming for the final series began in August 2018 and wrapped up earlier this year.
Previous locations have included the impressive Oheka Castle in New York and shopfront in Brooklyn on 129 Dwight Street.
The exterior of the Truth nightclub is filmed in the Meatpacking District of NYC and many exterior shots are filmed in and around Brooklyn.
The Steiner Studios in Brooklyn has housed some of the sets used in Power.
Speaking about the importance of the location in a behind-the-scenes featurette from Starz, actor Rotimi who plays Andre in Power said: “It represents his domain. Ghost has the club, the others have that world, this is his world.”
Power’s location manager Damon Gordon spoke about the importance of locations, saying: “Well, these real New York locations really do add something to the visual fabric of the show, showcasing the city and these characters in their real places.”
Rapper 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) serves as an executive producer and director on select episodes for the final series after starring in the show for the past five seasons.

What will happen in Power season 6?
The season five finale saw the death of Kanan (50 Cent) after a violent encounter with the police.
Angela (Lela Loren) was shot in the chest by Tommy and it was left unknown if she survived.
The bullet that struck Angela was meant to hit Ghost, so season six will deal with the breakdown of trust between Tommy and Ghost as Ghost seeks revenge.
Speaking to TV Line, Kemp said: “He wouldn’t be Ghost if he could take full responsibility for making those choices.”
Joseph Sikora who plays Tommy told Metro.co.uk: “‘Essentially and eventually we will find out if love is thicker than blood. A lot of times it’s not the case. Remember, Power is a cautionary tale, it’s a cautionary love story too.
“The love story isn’t just between Ghost and the ladies, but it’s really a love story between these two brothers.”
POWER SEASON 6 TRAILER BREAKDOWN
Loren was spotted filming scenes for the upcoming season so thankfully, it looks like she survived the shooting.
Season six of Power will the final series of the show and to end with the bang, it will have the most episodes in the show’s history – having 15 episodes instead of its usual 10.
Season six will be split into two parts, taking a ‘mid-season’ break after episode eight.
Although season six will be the final series of Power, plans of a spin-off series have already been announced by Starz.
Starz programming boss Carmi Zlotnik said: “Season six brings us to the end of what we know is just the first chapter of the Powerstory.
“However, as one chapter comes to an end, another will begin. Courtney Kemp and 50 Cent have created a world rich with complex and dynamic characters and there are a number of stories we plan to tell as we continue to explore and expand the Power universe.”
50 Cent added: “The last 5 seasons of Power have been an incredible ride for me and all of our supportive fans.
“We are far from over and I am excited to bring you more from the Power brand.”
